.ardmore - traditional cask

46% abv, €25, single malt, non-chill filtered

Nose: slight peat smoke, hay, fresh wet barley, sweet, vanilla, honey, banana foam candy, red fruit, berries, gooseberries
Palate: sweet, honey, medium dry, smoke, spicy, black pepper, cloves
Finish: sweet, honey medium dry, a hint of smoke and ash
Mark: +++++

Conclusion: I like this. It would be a nice addition on one of our shelves, for that time we might want to drink something peaty, but not too heavily peated. Could be a great whisky to pour when introducing someone to peated whiskies.

More info: Ardmore claims to be the only distillery in the Highlands to use fires from highland peat to smoke their malts. All their malts are finished in Quarter casks for an unknown period.
