The New Zealand Whisky Collection has a series of cask strength bottlings, varying in age, vintage and alcoholic strength. The only common divider they all have is that are distilled in the now closed Willowbank distillery in Dunadin, New Zealand, and they all have matured in ex-Bourbon barrels. We were lucky enough to receive a sample of the 1990 vintage, which has been bottled at a cask strength of a whopping 63.5%...
Nose: mellow, sweet, wine-gums, anise, milk chocolate, floral, violets, fruit, red apples, apple-sauce, red berries, raspberries
Palate: sweet, wine-gums, strong (obviously), red fruit, sweet red berries, brambles, raspberries
Finish: long, sweet, slight metallic, cocoa, milk chocolate, star-anise and a hint of liquorice
Mark: +++++

Our Cask Strength range of Single Malts is a collectible series for the discerning drinker. Aged between 20 and 26 years, these are hand bottled straight from the wood at our Oamaru Cellar Door.
