.three ships - 5yo premium select

Hard to find in Europe, but we were lucky enough to receive a sample from three ships distillery manager Andy Watts. The Three Ships - 5 Year Old Premium Select whisky is an artful blend of specifically selected South African and Scotch grain and malt whiskies that have been aged for a minimum of five years.

43% abv, €10*, blend

Nose: sweet, coconuts, vanilla, citrus, liquorice root

Palate: sweet, vanilla, citrus, oranges 

Finish: medium long, sweet, coconuts, vanilla
Mark: +++++ 

Conclusion: not much to say about it really, but that includes there is nothing negative to report either. Just good stuff.

* this price is just silly; it is the converted price from South African Rand, I am pretty sure the tax and excise alone would at least double the price in Europe. Still, a good price for an excellent whisky.
