.aberfeldy - 12yo

If you find yourself near the village of Aberfeldy, in the midst of the highlands in Scotland on your way up to Speyside, make sure you make a stop at the whisky distillery of the same name.

40% abv, €35, single malt

Nose: sweet, vanilla pods, malt, sesame cookies, fresh bread, overripe fruit, cherries, raspberries, spicy, nutmeg
Palate: sweet, honey, rosewater, floral, rosebuds, spicy, anise (no liquorice), fruit, pear, galia melon, spicy, nutmeg
Finish: sweet, honey, floral, violets, medium dry, medium long, speculaas
Mark: +++++

Conclusion: Well made stuff, but... nothing really special. It has good value for money and I would like it even better if it were a little more "in balance", a little higher on the abv and a little less coloured with caramel.
