We have tasted some of the Glendonach Cask Strength whiskies before at festivals, but I never got to it to make a proper tasting note until today.

54.9% abv, €55, single malt, non-chill filtered, natural colour

Nose: sweet, sherry (Pedro Ximénez), honey, floral, hydrangea, dried fruits, apples, pears, fresh berries, raspberries, strawberries
Palate: sweet, hot, dry, sherry, dried fruits, apricots, cherries, berries, raspberries, blueberries, raisins (it is almost a name the dried fruit game - name it, it is there - no winners, no losers)
Finish: sweet, dried fruits, raisins, dry, but surprisingly - not very long.
Mark: +++/++

Conclusion: For my taste, she is "a bit" too sweet. The dried fruits are omnipresent, which honestly does not do it for me. Value for money wise she is a good choice though, and if you are into a big, sweet, sherried whisky sometimes, this is a bottle you should be on the lookout for.

thanks to Whisky Corner for the sample
