.highland park - 15yo

This might be the reason I am not a big fan of modern day Highland Parks...

40% abv, €50, single malt

Nose:
 sweet, fruit, apples, pears, floral, lavender, pot-pourri,
Palate: sweet, clover honey, herbs, rosemary, fwp, pot-pourri
Finish: sweet, clover honey, a bar of soap, fwp, short, pot-pourri
Mark: +/++++

Conclusion: an OK nose. On all other levels, not for me. She might have aged in an ex-Pot-pourri cask? At least there is sort of a balance...

More info from the website: "30% of the casks used are first fill sherry cask, 70% of the casks used are refill sherry casks. The big flavour difference is that we are using predominantly using American oak sherry casks in the 15 where the 12,18 we are mainly using Spanish oak."
