.the arran - white stag - first release

Coming of age in May, after which she will be bottled to be 18yo at the release in June 2015, during the Arran festival. It will be a special bottling for the Arran White Stag Ambassador programme, chosen by their tasting panel. She has matured in a refilled ex-Oloroso hogshead and will only give 214 bottles worldwide.

54.2% abv, €??, single malt, non-chill filtered, natural colour

Nose: mint, eucalyptus, fresh, signature Arran fruitiness, sweet, floral, heather, sweet, vanilla, tropical fruits, coconuts, mangos, blackcurrant
Palate: sweet, thick honey, liquorice, floral, spicy, red peppers, berries, blackcurrant, cranberries, raspberries
Finish: sweet, honey, lingering, fruity, blackcurrant, pineapples and liquorice
Mark: +++++

Conclusion: Could have fooled me into thinking it was an ex-Bourbon cask and where I say could have - it actually did. With a splash of water the berries are showing off what they can do I am curious what the price is going to be.

.thanks to the Whisky Wire and the Arran Malt for shipping us the samples for the twitter tasting
