Our friend Billy from the Whisky Exchange, provided us with some samples of whisky all exclusive for sale at the Whisky Exchange shop, among which this beautiful 14yo ex-bourbon barrel matured Arran whisky.

55.5% abv, €100, single malt, non-chill filtered, natural colour

Nose: fruity, sweet, floral, jasmine flowers, honeysuckle, a hint of liquorice

Palate: sweet, floral, honeysuckle, fruity, apples, pear, spicy, white pepper, citrus, sweet (blood) oranges, tangerines, zest

Finish: sweet, honey, medium long,
Mark: ++++/+ 

Conclusion: Beautiful, I could drink this all day. A prototype Arran whisky at cask strength. I fell in love once with ex-Bourbon matured Arran whiskies, and this fits perfectly into that picture. That price though...
