.ardmore - tradition

An up valued version of the Ardmore Legacy, or maybe even a similar instalment of the traditional that was discontinued in 2014.

46% abv, €40*, single malt, non-chill filtered

Nose: rather young, hay, tobacco leaves, autumn, mushrooms, wet soil, sweet, cherries, brambles, a hint of milk-chocolate, creamy caramel, caramel apples
Palate: sweet, smoky, cherries, spicy, nutmeg, white pepper, citrus, grapefruit-zest
Finish: medium long, some smoke and ash, a hint of sweetness, cherries, earthy, mushrooms, wet soil, tobacco, grapefruit zest
Mark: +++++

Conclusion: Not at all bad,

Matured in ex-Bourbon, then finished in "19th Century-style" quarter casks.

*travel retail only

Many thanks to Ardmore for sending us the sample as part of the #TheArdmoreWhisky twitter tasting
