.glen elgin - 12 - flora and fauna

At the Glen Elgin distillery, when we visited in 2014, they were kind enough to allow us to explore this 'responsible driving' thing, and let me sample some of the drams they were pouring.

43% abv, €55, single malt

Nose: stale, old books, fruity, apples, green herbs, sage
Palate: sweet, milk chocolate, vanilla, malty, coffee beans, creamy mouth feel
Finish: sweet, vanilla, milk chocolate, cappuccino, floral, close to soapy
Mark: +++/++

Conclusion: Well, this is the first time I had a "cappuccino" note. Creamy, a hint of coffee, a touch of chocolate. Rather nice, like Starbucks' caramel macchiato, not every day, but sometimes, it might be a guilty pleasure...
