.glen grant - 1954 - g&m

A true example of what time and wood can do with a good spirit. 58 years in a cask has matured this whisky to her zenith very nicely, and Gordon & Macphail were there just in time to bottle and share it with us.

40% abv, €1000+, single malt, non-chill filtered, natural colour

Nose: sweet, wood juice, fresh cut oak, fruit, fresh berries, raspberries, sweet strawberries, honey, floral, wine gums, citrus, fresh lime juice, minty
Palate: sweet, honey, creamy, mahogany wood, floral, honey-clover, honeysuckle, fruit, honey-melon, citrus, lime juice
Finish: sweet, honeycomb, medium long, medium dry, citrus, lime zest
Mark: +++++

Conclusion: Most likely, more years in a cask would have killed the content. She is just great as she is.

.many thanks to Gordon & Macphail for sharing this sample with us
