.linkwood 23yo - smws 39.92 - dessert wine and smoking jacket

Compared her to her sister cask, that was distilled on the same day, matured in similar fashion, for a similar length of time and bottled in the same year. Funny how different this can turn out. This bottling was intended for the Canadian market, and we must have obtained it via a bottle share, for this comparison.

49.5% abv, €200
single malt, non-chill filtered, natural colour

Nose: sweet, fruit, pears, green apples, citrus, orange peel, lemon zest
Palate: sweet, honey, floral, honeysuckle, fruit, a touch of sour grapes, green apples, red apples
Finish: medium long, semi-dry, sweet, floral, honeysuckle, them apples again...
Mark: +++/++

Conclusion: Nice. I think she is a little nicer as her twin sister, but not that much. Many apple influences here too, as with her twin.

More info: distilled on October 29 1990, matured in a refill hogshead for 23 years and filled into 226 bottles in 2014.
