In a series of cask strength releases, this eight year old Port Charlotte is from a batch of 30000 bottles, bottled in 2011, matured in ex-American Oak casks.

60.5% abv, €160
single malt, non-chill filtered, natural colour

Nose: sweet, honey, spicy, cinnamon, smoke, bacon, citrus, lemon, red fruit, berries, raspberries, gooseberries, minty, eucalyptus
Palate: sweet, honey, creamy, spicy, cinnamon, floral, heather, honeysuckle, citrus, lemon, lemon curd, cookie dough, liquorice
Finish: long, smoky, creamy, fruity, red fruit, berries, raspberries, gooseberries, liquorice root, long, burnt bacon, citrus, lemon zest
Mark: +++++ 

Conclusion: Still a fine dram. After all this time in the bottle, it was time for me to make a note and compare her to the latest release of the CC:01
